The answer is simple as follows; you or your adjuster would hire a consulting engineer to inspect the damage to the property and support your adjuster‘s claims for settlement.  Now let us understand how the engineer is licensed in Florida.  All engineers, whether they were examined as civil engineers or other disciplines can call them selves “consulting engineers.”  Here the difference arises as to what the engineer‘s education and work experience is.  Compare this to the term Doctor.  A Doctor (MD) can practice in any field he or she is competent in, like cardiology.  Of course I would want a Doctor who studies and performed residence and currently works a sa cardiologist operate on myself, rather than a foot doctor.

The same exists for engineers.  Many engineers take a civil engineering course of study and pass a country wise examination for civil engineering.  I hold a mechanical degree and was examined as a mechanical engineer.  A mechanical exam test is more difficult than a civil exam and the qualifications for the mechanical exam are more difficult than civil.  Civil engineers usually deal with land development, dirt and the like whereas mechanical engineers deal with structural design, hydraulic water flows and heating, ventilation and air conditioning designs.
